Caacrinolaas
Caacrinolaas has many names, some with alternate spellings. Most commonly I’ve found Glasya Labolas, and have had better results with it in my research. Some of the other names include: Caassimolar, Glassia-labolas, Classyalabolas, and Gaylos-Lobos. There are a lot of names for this demon, which has made research and cross checking a bit easier and a bit harder at the same time. Some names pop up more than others, but this is already a demon we see a little less documented on. Because of that we’ll be looking at mostly follower interactions and experience.
Prominent Books and Text Mentioning Caacrinolaas
Pseudomonarchia daemonum (mentioned as Glasya Labolas, with aliases of Caacrinolaas and Caassimolar)
Dictionnaire Infernal (mentioned as Caacrinolaas, Cassimolar, Glassia-labolas)
The Goetia (mentioned as Glasya-Labolas)
Depictions
Most commonly Caacrinolaas is described and depicted as a dog with griffin wings, with followers describing a more humanoid figure. The dog imagery is often tied back to the Dictionnaire Infernal. We don’t see a lot of other depictions, and I haven’t seen many people talk openly about how he appears to them.
Common History and Information
This one was very fun due to the name variations. Glasya Labolas is the 25th spirit in the Goetia, which does seem to be the overall origin. Sadly, it was not as easy to find a link historically and see if there were ever any past deities that could be tied to Glasya Labolas, or Caacrinolaas. A lot of my research into the history is in religious texts or similar books and we don’t have many that mention this Demon in more detail. Most websites seemed to just parrot the same thing as the other, and some forum posts are dead or barren. It’s proven difficult to find more information that wasn’t fully based in follower practices, but we have been able to find a bit more there.
Interactions Towards Followers
Though not common to come around, I was able to find a few followers testaments to Caacrinolaas. Mainly that he was a beacon in their studies, offering help and encouragement in their craft, and some have even said they felt more at peace with his energy. Overall, it would seem that Caacrinolaas is a pillar of respite for those who wish to learn the liberal arts (literature, philosophy, mathematics, social sciences, and physical sciences). I have seen a few people mention him with art as well, citing them for help with art block, and understanding concepts of art.
Additionally, I’ve found a few places now where followers talk about his aid in curses in more detail, often calling Caacrinolaas to aid in spells around revenge, and causing harm to foes.
Common Offerings and Devotional Acts
Common offerings included herbs such as rosemary, and mullein. Metals like iron or gold, symbols of the sun, fire, or dogs were also mentioned. Colors included yellow and orange mostly.
I did not find a lot for devotional acts, there were a few mentions of studying being dedicated, but most mentions were very brief.
